Help!!): Can't start ragnarok

Well the title says it all.

I tried downloading just the lite installer but it seems that i can't start the ragnarok client. Like I've double clicked but nothing seems to appear.

I've also shifted it from D drive to C drive and failed. Then i downloaded the full installer and installed the lite files inside but I still can't seem to open it. I've done switching it between C and D drives. I'm using windows 7 so I set it in compatability mode for XP and left it as run as admin all the time. I'm also using AVG and i placed it on the exceptions list. I still don't know what's wrong. I'm trying to download the lite installer again in hopes of starting the game this time.

Okay I've reinstalled but failed. I've set rag.exe and ragre.exe to run as administrator and run in windows XP service pack 3 already. It doesn't seem to work either. I've changed resolutions too but it doesn't seem to help at all. So yeah I'm kinda at my wits end now

I changed all the settings for all users to run as admin and in the compatability mode already. It doesn't seem to work still. Restarted my laptop a few times before. So yeah is there another client that i can download with?

I'm updating my kro and sak now. I do hope it'll work this time(:

Okay i might have found the problem. I tried opening it real fast and went to the task manager. Indeed it was there but it closes itself soon after without the window even opening. Is there something wrong?

Update: Tried placing it in the exception list of my data execution prevention. Doesn't seem to work still. I've played other ragnarok servers and doesn't seem to have problems except this. My laptop runs on 64-bit system. Is it because the client is incompatible?

I am not really knowledgeable about Windows 7.

But try putting your RO folder in either your "My Documents", or "Desktop".

And tell me if it works.

done both but failed....

this really sucks because i tried downloading another server to test, it works perfectly fine but just not this one

Have you installer your Phantasm RO on the right folder?

It should be like this.

Gravity/RO/PhantasmRO.

If you installed it on the right folder, you might as well check your DATA.ini

The DATA.ini should be like this:

0=Arsinoe.grf
1=phantasmrop.grf
2=phantasmro.grf
3=data.grf
4=rdata.grf
5=sdata.grf

And you should take note, that what's inside your DATA.ini should

be inside your Phantasm RO folder.

Okay the data.ini didn't have arsinoe.grf. Thing is it still can't work. Because i have neither arsinoe.grf nor sdata.grf.

Do you have the Setup.exe on your Phantasm RO folder?

Please do copy a Setup.exe and run it on your Phantasm RO folder.

hi, do you have kro? what version? you can DL our full installer but you will still need the lite to get the phantasm ro setup. HTH

I already copied Setup.exe in my folder and ran it.

I also have KRO. Not only my version but i downloaded yours too. Thing is, it just wouldn't even start. I'm having no problems with other servers but i just can't open this. It's frustrating really.

So well in short:

There are 2 folders for PRO:
1: with my own kro files, fully updated rdata.grf and data.grf with 2012 june patches.
2: with your full installer, fully updated rdata.grf and data.grf with 2012 june patches. This folder also seems to have gotten itself some sakray folder but since it's because of the patch I thought I'd just leave it there.

Both doesn't seem to work even after shifting them from program files x86 to D drive and changing their permissions to run as admin for all users and run in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 3 for rag.exe, ragre.exe, lro.exe and the patcher. It just doesn't work you get what i mean?

I googled and thought it might have been because of the DEP but it doesn't work still so yeah

Heres how my set - up is ( I use windows 7). I have all of my Ragnarok Online Stuff in Program Files (x86).
Try downloading the full installer once more( I Used old Ragnarok Online servers Full Installer, and it worked fine)
Once you have all of that, Patch kRO, and Rag Renewal, etc.
And then download our lite client, and then patch that. Theres A chance you dont have all the files, I had to reinstall pRO for it to actually work. If you don't mind, Please PM me the files, and I should be able to help you further.

Global Moderator Rina thanks alot I'll go download the full installer again. But i was thinking it couldn't have been that problem since having the full installer installed means none of the files are corrupted o.o but nevertheless I'll just try again. Thanks a million.

lev well... I've placed it in the exceptions list for both firewall and resident shield on AVG. So yeah I doubt that's the problem.

Okay i redownloaded and there was still that problem... >.>

I found out though, that it's the client's problem. Such that just that RO application can't work. So i pulled out a RO client from another server and pasted it in that folder and viola i logged in. Missing some files though like

Lua Files Source\Lua Files\DataINFO\PetInfo.lua:60: table index is nil
Files Source\Lua Files\SprEditInfo\2DLayerDir_F.lua:23:table index is nil
les Source\Lua Files\SprEditInfo\2DLayerDir_male.lua:200:table index is nil
s Source\Lua Files\SprEditInfo\2DlayerDir_female.lua:204:table index is nil
Yeah these are missing...

And i can't seem to get to the page to see my own characters. Because it says Failed to Connect to Server.
Or maybe I've gotta use my home internet? Because it's the school's internet that I'm using atm.

Well Imma try to play with the grf files and add in the missing files

It seems your having problems with sprites.
And yeah, using schools internet causes an issue.
Uhm, try patching your kRO, and stuff.
I used a different servers kRO, and Rag_re too, and it runs perfectly for me .
Basically, run kRO's patch, and rag_re's patch.
Since your missing sprite files, and what not , that might help a ton.
